About
_JPG.jpg)
As an avid maker with a background in building, I am compelled by the conflict that lies between the desire to create and the negative impact our systems of production have that are so often extractive and wasteful. I focus on this tension using my knowledge of making along with research and iterative testing to get tangible results
Right now, I’m developing packaging for heirloom seeds made from the seafood industry's shell waste.
I worked for years as a scenic carpenter and welder building sets for theatrical productions. My jobs involved a wide, ever-changing range of projects from converting a golf cart into a 1950’s hotrod to a twenty foot tall wall of office filing cabinets that could fly. I developed a working knowledge in metal fabrication, woodworking, and theatrical automation. While the world of theatre is never boring and always fun, it is also ephemeral. This has motivated me to seek opportunity in areas where I can have a more positive long-term impact.
